Default Hard Worker in a planted tank

This is one of the 8 or so Snails I have in my planted tank. These are the "good" snails. I know he looks beat up, they all have those indents on the shells, but he's fine. These guys never stop moving. The only drawback is that they leave eggs all over the tank which never hatch but sometimes can be unsightly. You see a few of them in the photo on the wood, and a few traces of the old ones that fish ate.

yah these are good algae eaters. the eggs don't hatch because these things breed in brackish-saltish waters. i have a small ramshorn issue right now. I could probably sell them by the pound. anyways, ever getting around to dealing with ur planted tank?

Hiro, the tank looks great. I did a major cleaning and re-planting with half cleaned up and half new plants, and a total rearrangement, and so far so good (about 5 days ) we'll see.

It looks like a neritina-like kind of snails. Awesome algae eaters, and i confirm : barckish water is needed for the eggs to hatch.

Cheers !

Dunno about not hatching in freshwater. I saw a miniature nerite just a couple of days ago (about 2mm across; smaller than any of the nerites which were shipped).

Not sure about farming these guys. Out of the few hundreds of eggs that are littered throughout the tank, this is the first time that I've seen a hatchling.
